so it's very easy for me to check the oil level anyway. i also check other vital fluid levels from passenger side to driver side... steering, coolant, brake, clutch. steering and coolant should be in the mid to high mark, brake can be anywhere within the max/min (level decreases as your pads wear), and clutch fluid should be at the max at all times.
tattle tale sign for csc failure is if you notice the clutch fluid level dropping.

Yea I usually do my checks before I go for a drive. Check the oil, pop the second hood for the clutch/brake fluids. My Clutch fluid was a bit under the MAX line and I was concerned since I didn't check initially. It's been there for a long time now and no color change...
Even get OCD sometimes when my clutch feels 'soft' (or maybe my left leg is getting stronger) to double check!
