I love Mustangs, but I didn't wait to buy one because Ford was taking forever with the specs. And for the record, the new GT weighs ~150lbs more than the previous car. Yes, it has power over the Z, but I wasn't about to buy a sports coupe that weighed more than my AWD, turbo sedan.

Power is good, but a lower weight is easier in turns. I think the Z would be perfect with an NA 3.8L or 3.9L VQ that revs to 8000rpm and lays down 375-400hp with the same weight or slightly less.
