Unfortunately, I don't think there are that many good drives around ABQ. Mostly just city-type driving, or getting on I-40 or I25 and letting the Z rip. I go up to Santa Fe which is about an hour north to get off the main roads and have some fun. I drive up to the Ski lodge or head out on Bishop Lodges road. Some good places to stay are at the Marriott north of town but if you want to be downtown the Doubletree by Hilton is good. I work with them a lot. I live in the northeast section of the city and that tends to be very nice. There is a Hampton on I-25 north that is close to this area. Anything near the university will be pretty good.
