Another thing I'll recommend when you get into an accident:

Pull out your phone and start video recording immediately. I walk around and pretend like I'm taking photos. When I'm done with that, I will approach the other person and start chatting them up about what happened. Keep the phone recording, and try to get them to admit fault and/or apologize. Then you have audio of their side of the story at the time of the accident in case they change their story like virtually everyone seems to do.

Disclaimer: I live in Texas where it is perfectly acceptable for one party of a conversation to record audio without the permission of the other party. In some states this is not legal, so I urge you to learn what legal actions you can and can't take to protect yourself in your location.
