yah, it's definitely a lot of work.
btw, ive not had success with meguiar's "soft" clay. they start out soft but
turn coarse and hazed the hell out of my Z's paint early on. i hated it.
had to polish that out..extra work =
i only use griot's soft yellow mud clay.
definitely use disposable gloves.
