a/c & effects from oil/trans coolers.
So I have a question to those of you running oil/trans coolers: do/will those after market coolers affect air conditioning?
situation: oil and trans cooler installed, a/c works perfectly fine and ice cold driving around city and short distances. after driving for about an hour, including some spirited driving, a/c starts fluctuating between warm (outside air temp) and slightly cool... then eventually is just warm/hot. While at a stop light a/c is cold, but then once i press on the gas and accelerate the a/c turns warm and stays warm as long as I'm on the gas. upon coming to a stop again and letting the car sit for a bit, the a/c eventually gets a little colder, but nowhere near as cold as it normally is. this happens regardless of recirculate or fresh air is used. fan speed makes no difference other than just blowing warm air in my face harder.
already scheduled apt. to get the a/c checked out, but the fact that sometimes it is ice cold tells me the freon is fine. my intial thought was that the oil/trans cooler are hot and blocking airflow up front and possibly that hot air is reducing the ability to properly work?
note: its been mid 90s in the afternoon here in FL, typically 50% humidity if not more. outside air temp is reading the heat coming off the black pavement usually about 100-110 in the mid afternoon.
