if i was to do it, i would run new wires to the DRL to be able to return to stock when needed.

if you want DRL + DRL and headlight, then it's real easy.

first see how much amps the DRL pulls to determine if you need a relay. if you do, just wire the trigger to a switched 12v. walla. if you want ability to turn it on/off, then put a switch in series.

if you only want the DRL to turn on only with headlights, then you can trigger it from
the headlamp ballast, or even use one of the markers (as mitco mentioned above).
