The oil coolers on the newer 370z are outside and in front of the radiator, so would not factor in extracting heat away from the engine bay, and is also why my oil temps get higher in traffic since there is no air moving over the external oil cooler.
I didn't believe it at first, but I've tested it a number of times now. If I keep the AC off and sit in traffic temps will hover around 220 and never drop (or will gradually increase) unless I start to move again. If I turn on the AC they will begin to drop while still sitting in traffic.
I know the Corvettes I've had would vent heat automatically through the cabin if the engine got hot enough, but it had nothing to do with having the AC on or not.
