It will not be as loud as a Tomei single. But it looks better (to my eyes) with the stock rear body kit and it is definitely cleaner sounding. The tomei is pretty raspy with test pipes at 3-4k rpm's. Motordyne is quiet under light load with a cool throaty noise and is very loud under WOT. It is named the shockwave for a reason. It is not just loud but makes excellent power gains as well.

I've had an Ark Grip for a few months and now a DT-S on my Z, both are great exhausts, but that Motordyne is making itching for another change.
