A good salesman would not make sweeping generalizations about someone, like discounting you because of age. You are correct, it is about money at the end of the day, and once they realized you had enough, it became time for them to see how much of it they could separate you from
Nothing wrong with that though, if the art of sales and negotiation is done respectfully. We all want value for our expenditures, whether it be product, service, or a combination of both. It had to be enjoyable though, to blow that stereotype out the window
