For a DD I think it would be fine.
If you're going to track it as mentioned above I'd probably get something that I would trust my life with. Also depending on the type of wheel and type of powder coating, some people will say that powder coating an aluminum wheel will decrease its structural integrity because the aluminum is already annealed at a certain temperature yadda yadda. Also powder coating a wheel could technically hide internal cracks that would be under the powder coat.
