i have hood struts on my evo from rexpeed and the bulge is noticeable on the evo
but these hood struts fit great

i followed the instructions on the youtube video
jacked one side up installed the ball post with 1 washer centering the plastic underneath it

used the middle nut to install the hood post- the post facing toward middle of car

lowered car, did the same to other side
lowered car back down

the trickiest part is the hood strut i didn't believe would fit- it seemed too long in length when i attached the front post first, so i was working alone and lifted the hood with my head and physically compressed the strut shorter to push it onto the hood ball post.

that was hard but it worked and after 30 mins had the whole thing completed and no hood bulge.
fyi for others, it does fit great and works fine
maybe the hood strut expands a bit from being noncompressed it really seemed too long but after pushing it really hard to shrink it down it worked and it functions just fine

thanks!

thank you for the write up. I still have a few available. already boxed up just need shipping address.
