I have a furnace condensate pump like that... It goes crazy and the "alarm" goes off and I have to take it all apart and wipe everything down (weird how condensation can have that much... yucky **** in it) and then it works OK for 6 more months.

I can buy a new one for $50 but why not keep kicking this one and ripping it apart when it surprises me by failing?
