Though I think the starting price is a little high. My prediction is the GLA45-AMG will be a game changer in the Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) market.
Mercedes-Benz over the last few years has reinvigorated the lower end AMG vehicles.
For a while there, if it cost less than $100,000. The AMG moniker just meant, more power and a body kit, with nothing to show for in terms of performance through the suspension. Though Benz had bragging rights numbers on paper. On the track, numbers left some to be desired.
now it seems Benz is changing and model and injecting performance into the vehicles under $100K. Like the C63AMG & CLA45AMG.
The direct competitor is only the BMW X1. It's power output and general performance is comparable to the 370Z-7AT NISMO & EVO-X MR. I would run the comparo just for shyts n giggles. (Not that these are direct competition).
It would be GREAT if that Benz engine went into the next-gen Z? The curb weight of the CUV is around 3600lbs and gets to 60 in the high 4's. Imagine this in a 3200lb or less Z35?
