Will it turn on by pressing the steering wheel joystick "in" in the center position? That would tell you it's the clicker inside the potentiometer that's gone out. Dumbass Nissan let a radio maker use rubber contact/clicker inside there instead of aluminum or brass like most are.
Actually it's a momentary contact switch that the rubber skirt disintegrates on. The reason I know is mine broke and I had to disassemble the radio control PCBA , remove the on/off volume potentiometer and rebuild the momentary switch. Huge PITA.
