Is my car a candidate for coil-overs?
I have to say, I love my Z as it is. But I'm looking for a little bit more control, especially at speed over very bumpy roads. Most of my driving is on frost-heaved back-country roads in Connecticut, Maine and New Hampshire. Narrow, winding, off-camber corners, poor pavement quality.
The vast majority of my driving is street. If I have a good year, I'll make about 8 autocrosses and maybe a driver's school. But I'm not trying to optimize for track use. Especially true since my spouse likes the current ride quality, and would strongly object if it gets harsh (been there, done that, got the T shirt!). My last modified car had to be somewhat unmodified for she-who-must-be-obeyed.
So is my car a good candidate for a KW3 or alternative coilover? I'm not looking to lower the car, and I want to keep or improve the ride, but I want MORE control.
What do you guys think?
