I can't speak to the K&N setup but the OP was talking Stillen Gen 2.

These have cold air boxes and are specifically called cold air intakes. Shouldn't be worse than stock.

That said, I don't have the gen 2 but was thinking of going that route since I am not really interested in yanking my bumper every time I want to work with the filters.
