True, but many people suggest unplugging the battery and letting everything run dead as a soft ECU reset so that it recalibrates the A/F mixture.

Not sure if this is valid, but I did it after installing HFCs and CBE. No harm in it; my subjective assessment is that it pulls a little harder.
