So glad I bought my car before the new plates were being distributed.
Also, this new plate for NY (while ugly) is just a money grabber. 25USD
forced to upgrade and then another 20USD if you want to keep your current letter/number combo. Texas came out with new plates (I have the old ones) and do not have to worry about upgrading until 10 years from now.
