Hey if covering your shifter to make it look like a manual and then using the stick to manually shift your auto gets you through your day
You should add a foot parking brake so its like you have three pedals too. Lots of cars have one not just manuals

It is a functional shifter you know... it's not as if it isn't designed to be used that way. Reversing the up/down made it a lot more fun and intuitive than the paddles, and I found that I liked it even more than the paddles, so I use it most of the time.
The 7AT is designed to be manually shifted OR automatically shifted. It's not a game of pretend. You understand that, right?
There's a gear indicator on the dash... The MT also indicates gears on the dash, and most OEM knobs have a little marking of gears on the knob..
Actually, if there was a complete AT bezel, boot, and knob package that looked good and fit (e.g., the G37 one) I probably would have just gotten that to make the swap easier. What exactly are we arguing about here???
Do you have a red GT-R start button? Does that make you (or anyone else) think it's a GT-R?
It's cosmetic. That's all.
If my panties are in a bunch you've got yours twisted so tight you're starting to lose oxygen to your brain.
