essentially catalyctic converter "deletes". It replaces the Cats with a strait pipe. If you have to pass emissions test once a year this will indeed fail you 100% (unless of course you swap the OEM cats back on for the test). but they essentially make the exhaust strait pipe and increase power and torque. Also give off a slight nasty smell and could possibly add rasp/hiss if not paired correctly with a proper exhaust.
