I think the problem comes from the fact that the Nismo has always been easily distinguishable from the standard coupe, even more so with the Z33 version.

This new model really should have been the 2013 upgrade for the standard model.

Any change for the Nismo should have improved the aerodynamics of the current model (if practical) and added RC brake ducts and grille along with some HP/Torque, and most definitely brake improvements.

New rims are okay, but probably could have gone to 20" rims.

Adding nav and the Recaros are the only positives I see here.

It sure seems like a lot of money and effort expended on a model that supposedly is going to be changed in (now) 2016. It makes one wonder if there isn't going to be a new Z anytime soon if at all.
