When you tighten the valve, it just needs to be snug. You don't have to put it in a bind. Just like with oil filters. This will give you more control when you go to open the valve - much less likely to "jump" open.
Late edit: And since you will keep body parts from underneath the car whilst using the hyd jack and will be using jack stands to hold the weight of the car once it's up in the air, it's not a big deal if the hyd jack bleeds down a
tiny bit.
