The main problem with the intake manifold is space. They're great on cars like the LS series Chevys and 5.0 mustangs, but they don't have the same design as the VQ motors. The way the heads are laid out, you can fit an IM without taking up too much vertical space. With the 370Z, an intake manifold would be great, but there is almost no room to add more material without having to raise the hood.
