It's not a big deal to remove, if you are putting the g3's on, and if it does cause a problem you can always rivet them back on. I pulled mine off to put on the nismo front brace. Had to cut a slot in them to make it fit and then riveted them right back on.

Great info. Makes me think I'll just go ahead and get the G3 and do what needs to be done. Maybe do the nismo braces at the same time
