Shifter mounted, disk brakes, clutch petal, whole 9, but we had years (even at that age) of cart racing before we tried this.
All the parts were made by us for this project or were for cart racing and the end result had a roll cage and 8"W slicks on the front and either 10 or 12"W slicks on the back with a welded sprocket to the back axle and keyed sprocket to the motor.
It took the summer and we got 1, yes 1 ride out of it, single pass through the neighborhood, turn around and come back, never got higher than 2nd gear and when I got back to the front of my house my mother stopped me and said "take it off" and pointed at the motor. The motor is still sitting in my parent’s garage to this day.
That was 20 years ago.
That much power in 100cc is scary, fun, but scaaaary. I would not attempt it with anything larger without a lot of knowhow and access to parts comparable to what you can cram into a small sized car, proper shocks, way upgraded steering etc. etc.
It's a neat idea, and it’s fun to do, hell it's even fun to ride in, but looking back I was lucky I had someone looking out for me before I really pushed my luck...
Have you seen how fast a 5hp cart can go (granted you can bypass 2k in a hurry to do it), or even the upgraded riding lawnmower motors 13-18hp class? Those things will scat...
