Hey guys, sry I have been under the radar since the breakfast run. I crashed and burned after breakfast during the afternoon football game. Must have been the biscuits n gravy. Been out of town since Monday so this is the first day to log on.
We had a good turnout for the run and a few more showed up afterwards for breakfast. John thanks for making it out this early and also to all that got up early for the run. We made it through the run before everyone and their boats got on the road. It was an early one and coffee was only a few steps away, thanks goodness for Peet’s Coffee. We had plenty of time to make introductions to the new folks that joined us on this run and it’s always a pleasure to see the familiar die hards.
New to the run was Matt and Cooper from V6performance, thanks guys it was great having you along and hope to see you soon on the next run. Mike has some history being a current G owner and previous Z owner. It’s good you have stuck with the family Z/G, not to mention it’s a small world with the peeps we both know. Orrie a newcomer to the Z community just picked up his Daytona Blue 350Z just eight days ago, coming over from the MR2 Spyder family and twisties is in his blood. He could not wait to open up his new Z and throw it into some twisties. I know we gave him a taste of the twisties and not sure he had any opportunities to open it up.
John and Steve were no newcomers to the run. I could not pull away from John on the straights nor the twisties in his G37. Steve just traded in his 300ZX for a vette and it sure does look pur-dee. Charlene’s 300ZX is down for the day and rode with me and took all of the shots except for The Fountains and Mel’s Diner photos. She did a good job.
Pat, moxy and Wes met us at Mel’s Diner for breakfast for a table of about 12, Matt, Cooper and Mike could not stay for breakfast or we would have had about 15. As it turned out the crew at Mel’s and manager got us seated reality quick (for a non reservation party) and we enjoyed the football game on T.V.
All in all I would like to thanks everyone for making it out; we made it with no mishaps and arrived on time at Mel’s Diner. My only reservation was that we did not have time to stop at the river bottom and view the Forest Hill Bridge and also take any motion shots through the 6 mile twisties of Old Forest Hill Road. I am glad that I did not run the bicyclists off the road going down Hwy 49 to the river bottom.
I will post up my pics in a few.
