Well, I don't know you, JWillis. I lurk here once in a while and I have to say, nobody knows your son like you do. Sometimes you have to show your kids you trust them. If he does okay and doesn't mess up it'll pay off for both of you. If he messes up, then I hope it's not too bad.
I have a grown up daughter (29) who I would've trusted with my Z if I'd had it when she was in HS. She was/is someone I would trust with my life. Not that she didn't have a good time. She drank some in HS and a lot in college but she kept out of trouble and never drove after drinking (that I know of -- at least she never got caught). It'll be a lot of fun for him and his date. All the other guys are going to eat their hearts out. He doesn't have to say anything about the rev limiter.
