You need to hook up one end of the resistor to the ground/common wire and the other to the wire to the turn signal wire connecting to the bulb. So if your bulb plug has 2 wires coming out of it that lights up the bulb, connect the resistor ends to those 2 wires.

IIRC, you'll need one for each turn signal bulb you replaced with LEDs.
