I wouldn't, but no real hard feelings on it. I use synthetic and change twice a year regardless of miles.

As far as starting the car while it sits. Unless you are getting the car up to temperature, you are not helping. Just put the battery on a tender and let it sit. Short runs are hard on a car and the fluids.
