I have an opposite explanation on why you can't find one: They're actually very popular, and get sold.
I'd estimate that 80% of the 370Z's I see are silver.
But, still, get the color you want. (I don't know leasing, so maybe leasing is different; I bought mine so I definitely waited for the color and had them ship it from the boat.)
