I did the same thing, always have.

If it isn't visible in my rear view mirror, its visible on the sides, they are viewing wide, i don't see any of the of the car from the side mirrors.

Perfect for the three lane roadways here too, I can basically see the 2nd & third lanes without issue at that angle, and by the time they are out of view on the mirror itself, I'm seeing them with peripheral anyway.

All bases covered.

....the home-link backup camera doesn't hurt either
