This is way off topic here, but I'm in it and I see what is going on. I think society is influencing it, but when soldiers can't be made to feel "uncomfortable" by a superior NCO or officer (and I mean uncomfortable like corrective action, not akward) the system has gone soft. You can ask any current NCO and they'll tell you that they've taken any and all training tools away from NCOs.
