Default How to fit tons of tire: quick, easy, and free

Discovered this basically by accident. A fellow forum member sold me a bunch of used Hoosier tires, 295s and 315s. One set was already mounted on stock sport wheels. Pretty easy to figure the 295s go on front and the 315s in the rear. But with the wheels on the car the offsets seemed a little funny: the wheels had been reversed.

Putting stock rear wheels on the front of your car gives tons of tire clearance (plus a little bit of poke, minus lots of camber). The front wheels mounted in the rear will be a little sunk. A spacer would fix that if you care about aesthetics. But at nismo ride height, everything clears fine with no rub.

With the stock sport wheels reversed front to rear, you can easily fit 295/315 Hoosiers.
