these days i only spend a portion and save the rest for a rainy day, for kids colleges, and retirement. most people making income my wife and i do would probably opt to live in a much nicer house, and drive much nicer cars... im pretty happy where im at and the cars i have so no need to spend any more than i have to.

I'm definitely interested in moving closer to town. But the mortgage on a $200K house is much easier for us right now. Moving where I want to move (which is still 10+ min highway drive to downtown) will cost at least double that and probably more. I might be able to save some money by purchasing a fixer-upper, but I would want to do all the renovations before moving in which means two mortgages for a few months

Maybe when my wife becomes CFO of her company
