How's he gonna polish the swirls out? IMHO, gotta move up to some power sooner or later. Porter Cable 7424 is an extraordinarly effective place to start.
I've found the glass sealant to work quite well. In addition to working well on our cars, my wife uses it on our glass shower doors which definitely leads to less water spotting.
