Default Ark "gap"

Installed my Grip system this past weekend. As a quality engineer in the automotive industry, I'm a bit concerned with the system's flange flatness, especially on the cat connection where the OEM thin metal gasket is reused. There is in my opinion, large gaps adjacent to the stud holes, where there is no clamp load. This has a very high potential to leak, and I believe it will over time. I have attached a picture of the installed condition and of a free state flange. I would suggest you blanchard grind your flanges and recheck flatness after welding, as there will be distortion. Any suggestions on how I prevent a leak? I feel like one of the thicker graphite gaskets may do better in this joint. I don't want to complain too much, but I also think the supplied hardware could be of better quality for a $1500 system. I had a few washers that were even squared off.
