I had to put my Z on jack stands yesterday to remove the wheels and that's how I did it. My floor jack won't reach the front jack point on the cross-beam. If I raise the car on ramps enough to get it under, there's still not enough clearance to work the handle. So I used the car's e-jack on one front side, then the other. At its max extension I can slide an 11 inch tall jack stand with slotted hockey puck under the notched point on the pinch seam. With the front on stands, I go to the back and used the floor jack under the differential to lift the rear enough to get the jack stands under the rear.
The hockey puck idea I got from these forums works great. Hockey pucks are cheap, a couple of bucks each, and are easily slotted for the pinch seam using a radial arm saw. Someone mentioned putting some magnets to hold them...that's clever too. I found some 1/2 inch diameter neodymium magnets on Amazon...just drilled a hole in the puck off-center and epoxied them in. I'll take them in with me when I get my oil changed or if the car needs to go on a 4-point lift for any other reason.
