Default looking for some rim polishing insight

Hey all!

I just picked up a new set of forged rims for the Z but they have a couple of lip boo boo's that I'm not too keen on. I'm pretty familiar with the aluminum polishing process as I personally polished all of my turbo kit piping and relateds; but the problem is these rims have a gunmetal clear coat on the barrels and im afraid jewlers/buffing compounds etc will either not hide the imperfections and/or pull the clear coat off the rim which would really get me hot headed especially at the cost for new polished barrels for these things.

if anyone is rim cleanliness anal or polishing savvy any info would help!

Thanks in advance,

Ben
