for the main harness i solder the wires and wrap them with e-tape or shrink tubing.

as for the steering control modules, etc, i use these taps:

Amazon.com: Install Bay 3M T-Tap Connector 16/14 Gauge - 100 Pack (Blue): Car Electronics

blue ones for bigger wires, red for smaller wires.
