Our regs down-under require the isolation switch to be within driver reach. I mount mine on a bracket on the tunnel to the left of the gear lever or in the centre of the dash - remembering I'm seated on the right side of the car because we are strange-dudes down here ... comes from being upside down and all the blood pooling in our heads !!

Our regs also require a cable with a loop-end to the outside to be connected to the switch such that a flag-marshal and/or first intervention vehicle medic can use it to isolate power and this is usually mounted just ahead of the windscreen thru the scuttle and/or up from under the bonnet in the drivers side of the vehicle.
