Even some engineers don't know about them. They just...happen. I remember when I owned a Z06 and reported my cruising temps were 195*F oil-temp. Everyone freaked as 150-170 is the norm due to the massive plate cooler up front. But then...I looked and saw NO oil-cooler. An engineer on the forum did some digging, and the Z06's got ZR1 cooling systems (liquid/liquid) for 2011+. This was, to me, a MAJOR change that went complete un-noted and un-advertised. Also the carbon-fiber lined syncro upgrade. It made shifting in freezing temps very smooth and pleasant even in the first few shifts after a cold start.
Anyway, this is a very new driveline even though it uses tried and true basis. Give GM a year or two to see what they tweak. The C5 got a ton of tweaks in a couple of years, and so did the C6. I doubt the C7 is any different. The C6 had major improvements nearly every year it was made.

Oh hell yes. Let them work out all of the "new model quirks". Let the early adopters take it in the ***, not you.
