It's got a lot of new hardware onboard. GM is one of the few companies that makes significant mechanical improvements nearly every year of production. Even if price is no object, let 1-2 YM's go by if you can, and see what breaks/gets fixed/gets an update. Also, get an insider you can TRUST. GM's updates are often not made public. Even some engineers don't know about them. They just...happen. I remember when I owned a Z06 and reported my cruising temps were 195*F oil-temp. Everyone freaked as 150-170 is the norm due to the massive plate cooler up front. But then...I looked and saw NO oil-cooler. An engineer on the forum did some digging, and the Z06's got ZR1 cooling systems (liquid/liquid) for 2011+. This was, to me, a MAJOR change that went complete un-noted and un-advertised. Also the carbon-fiber lined syncro upgrade. It made shifting in freezing temps very smooth and pleasant even in the first few shifts after a cold start.

Anyway, this is a very new driveline even though it uses tried and true basis. Give GM a year or two to see what they tweak. The C5 got a ton of tweaks in a couple of years, and so did the C6. I doubt the C7 is any different. The C6 had major improvements nearly every year it was made.
