So this may be similar to other DIYs however each kit is different so i thought i would post this here to assist anyone if needed.
I already had an AMS shifter installed so the removal is of that to put in the NST.
You will need:
1 x set of 3/8 drive Metric sockets
1 x 3/8 drive ratchet
1 x 3/8 drive swivel or universal joint
1 x set of metric allen keys.
1 x NST Short Shifter Kit
Instal took me 1 hour.
(you could also use a 1/4 drive ratchet and tools but its up to you)
To start:
o Remove Shift Knob and raise top panel. Then disconnect the connector for your hazard light and rev match if you have it.
o Remove all 4 bolts that hold down the grey retaining plate.
o Remove grey retaining plate and disconnect both connectors on the right side.
o Remove upper rubber boot.
o Remove lower rubber boot from around shifter retaining plate and shifter.
o Now going under the car. Remove the rubber boot from around the shifter linkage. This is right above the driveshaft which you can see in the bottom part of the picture. The boot just pulls away towards the transmission.
o Remove the bolt and washers from the lower rod end. Also remove the sleeve bushing from the rod end.
o Back up top. Remove 3 bolts that hold down the stock retaining plate. (NOTE: The shifter has a spring under it and will pop up as you remove the bolts.)
o Remove stock retaining plate.
o Remove shifter, Leaving spring in place.
