Something sounds fishy there to me. So not only is your gas gauge incorrect, but your mileage went to sh&t as well?? I cant see how you only got 220 miles when you average 300-350...... As far as the low fuel light, you cant trust the mileage it shows you, because it changes too frequently (too many variables). To me your long road trip problem is easy. Gas up when the low fuel light comes on, or every 200 miles, whichever comes first.
