It was the greatest car-buying experience of my life.
The lease on my 2011 Z Touring Sport was up in July. I got a lease "pull ahead notice that said if I re-leased a Nissan by Mar 31, they'd waive 3 of my last 4 payments. Although it's early, I submitted a "request for quote" to the 4 Nissan dealers closest to me. All responded but the one close to home, but that's another story. A dealer 90 miles from here offered to buy me out of all 6 of my remaining payments and lease me a 2014 Touring Sport with Nav for $37,739 + T/L and including transport from Illinois to Minnesota (residual value was $21,000 and KBB is $28,000). They wanted to get the deal done by Mar 1. I was game but a recent snowstorm last week made the roads undriveable by a Z with stock Potenzas, so they offered to deliver the white Z to my house and take my black cherry Z back. We did the paperwork at my kitchen table. I never even set foot in the dealership. It was about as seamless as ordering a pizza to be delivered.
The car I bought traveled almost 700 miles to get to me, but none of them ended up on the odometer.
