It's that time again. For those of you who are interested, registration for the Carlisle May shows is now open. If you register before
April 7th, you will pay much less than if you pay at the gate and they'll mail you your window stickers to save time.

P&S:
Performance & Style
(hopefully the weather holds this year)
I&K Nationals:
Import & Kit Nats
P&S: $65.00 entry for the judged showfield, $50 for non-judged. I will be parking in the judged showfield.
I&K is $35.00 to park in the showfield and I wouldn't recommend doing the "standard of excellence" judging unless your car is bone stock and very clean.
For P&S, we tend to head up Friday night. We'll get dinner and then if the weather is good, they have a cruise/welcome event that's pretty cool. The event runs all day Saturday and Sunday but most people don't stick around for Sunday. The drive-thru judging for the showfield takes place on Saturday. You will be given a time to pull up to the judging area.
For the I&K Nationals, there's no Friday event but you want to be on the lot EARLY to get a good spot on Saturday. Again, most people don't stick around for Sunday.
Where to stay: I typically stay at the Motel 6 Carlisle. Fewer idiot kids and it's cheap. Let's be honest, you're not in Carlisle for a swanky hotel. It's about $60 per night and I have yet to see them run out of room so I won't be pre-booking group rooms this year unless people really want me to.
What to bring:
-Tents or an umbrella. You will want one to stay out of the sun and/or weather.
-Detailing supplies
-Coolers are permitted. Not sure if alcohol is permitted but no one has ever hassled me about it. Just don't be a ****.
-A lawn chair or something to sit on. There's a lot of sitting around.
FAQ:
Q: How long does it take to get there?
A: About an hour and a half from where I live (Germantown, MD)
Q: What is there to do other than the show?
A: Tons of fun little bars and restaurants. P&S would be the more "rowdy" of the two events and the police and Carlisle residents behave accordingly.
Q: Rowdy? Huh?
A: P&S gets a much younger "Fast and Furious" crowd. Lots of alcohol. Lots of dumb kids doing dumb things but if you're into the mod scene, this is the show to attend. I&K is more about restorations, kit cars and "clean" older cars. It's also more relaxed and people will come up to you and talk about cars rather than having "who has the loudest, most annoying stereo" contests with their neighbors.
Q: Police? Are they dicks or something?
A: Well no but if you act the fool, you will get a ticket. I watched an idiot do a burn-out while waiting to get into the fairgrounds and he was immediately pulled over. DO NOT SPEED. You will get caught and ticketed. I flat-out guarantee it. The good news is, you won't get pulled over for "questionably legal" mods.
I may add to this.
