This car will be traded in by early March for a boat at $24K to save sales tax.
If I sell this car privately, I need at least $26,750 to offset the trade in tax benefit. However, my boat dealer can buy my car and sell it to you at $26K in the same time which means I will have tax benefit for trading in and you will save $750 by buying from the boat dealer.
The dealer won't mark up the price because they really need to sell the boat (they just need to push the papers to my trade in).
I have dealt with this boat dealer several times in the past in this way, and the buyers and I never had an issue.
So, the bottom line is that I can sell this car privately at $26,750 or $26,000 at the boat dealer.
As I mentioned, the car was kept in the garage all the time and hand washed/waxed and covered. I only drive in sunny days between April and Oct.
The only time I had to drive the car in the rain was 3 times during the thunderstorms in the Summer time. During the winter months, the car was hooked up with a trickle charger all the time, and motor was run for 20 mins every 2 weeks.And this car was never modified nor raced.
