I've owned my 1971 240Z since June of 1987 and have been an active member of the Middle Tennessee Z Club in Nashville as a charter member since its inception in 1999. I am also active in the Nashville area with assisting in putting on car shows for charity and also a member of the Battlefield Region Antique Automobile Club of America in Franklin, TN.
The 240Z has 271k miles (original unrebuilt engine) and is basically stock under the hood with the exception of ceramic coated headers, MSD ignition and Pertronix kit. It has a 1 inch front sway bar, Tokico Illumina struts, European market 240Z springs and 280ZX 6 spoke wheels. It has a 4 speed. It is a great handling car, very reliable, and has been to ZDayZ at least 6 times and I still go on "spirited" club cruises and road trips. It dynoed at 127hp at ZDayZ in 2009, and won the award for
Lowest HP on the Dyno that year!
In November of 2013 I purchased its 40 year newer version preowned with 6,400 miles from a dealership in Paducah, KY. It was purchased new in 2011 by an elderly retired female military officer from Ft. Campbell, KY who traded it for a red one at its 6k oil change at the dealer. It sat on their used car lot for 6 months before I got it. Its a base with Sport package and automatic tranny. It now has 8,500 miles and has been a blast so far.
