at first the ice build up on the driveway make it same level as the floor of the garage, and later on it became a bit higher thus the freezing rain and water flow into the garage through the gap of the garage door...

plus the garage floor is not even, actually concave shape thus water gets pooled up inside the garage.

we have this pooling problem in the summer too when it rains heavily but we can remove the water right away.

but not this time when things got freezes up...

we ask the constructor can we re-pave the garage he says it is difficult because the garage is right above the 2nd basement thus it is hollow, thus they are not sure how much weight they can put onto the floor.

but this summer I am going to ask if he can make a hole in the garage floor thus a drainage and we can connect it the drainage in the basement thus have a path for the water to go away.

hopefully it will work.
